Who am I?

Biography

My name is Emma and I am 23 years old, currently living in Lidköping. My main personality trait is my love for creating. Designing and being part of a process of making something is where I really get to flourish.

I am curious and approach my surroundings with a goal to learn as much as possible. My belief is that you can never learn too much and that whatever you learn will benefit you. My interests revolve a lot around this. I love to travel, try new things and meet new people. 

Friends, family and work colleagues describe me as calm, inventive and observant. Being observant and eager to learn have been some of my most important tools, both in my personal life and at work. When I experience new contexts, places and meet new people, I feel confident adapting to them. I like challenges and therefore I see each new situation as a small quest to solve and an opportunity to develop my skills.

I currently work as a hostess at a Scandinavian hotel chain, Best Western Plus Edward hotel. But I am looking for a position as a UX designer as it is my dream career after studying user experience design at university and earning my bachelor's degree.

Education

At the beginning of summer this year, 2024, I graduated  and received my bachelor's degree in Science majoring in Informatics. I studied the User Experience Design Program, 180 credits, at the University of Skövde, one of the leading technical universities in Sweden.

My years studying UX design have been incredibly fun and have given me in-depth knowledge of designing meaningful IT interactions for users. I have picked up many strategies to carry with me in my professional toolbox. My education has had a broad approach in informatics but with a strong focus on the end user. I have among other courses, studied graphic design, psychology and programming, which has given me valuable experience in combining different fields to understand and create solutions for users' needs and goals.
